Alix Murray: My Nuçi's Space Story

Nuçi’s Space has been near and dear to my heart since 2021 when I attended my first session of Camp Amped. Camp played a huge role in shaping who I am, both as a musician and as a person. Being surrounded by like-minded people who shared a passion for music gave me a sense of belonging that I had never experienced before.

When I was in camp, I learned so much about practicing and performing. I also learned how to collaborate with others and feel that my voice mattered in a group setting. I fostered a lot of genuine connections at Camp Amped, and many of them are people I still play music with to this day. I’ve since been lucky enough to come back to Nuçi’s Space and continue contributing to the youth programs. Camp is a place where everyone is encouraged to be themselves and feel at home.
