Leaving a Bequest
If you’ve put together an estate plan with the help of an attorney, chances are, you’re familiar with the term “bequest.” A bequest is an instruction for assets or money to transfer to a person or charity following your death.
You can leave a bequest to Nuçi’s Space through a will, trust, or beneficiary designation.
Will or Trust
You can include a bequest to Nuçi’s Space’s endowment in your will or revocable living trust (which is a vehicle you establish to avoid probate). You can leave a specific dollar amount, or a portion of the “remainder” of your estate or trust after distributions to family and other beneficiaries. You can update your will or trust anytime prior to your death.
For example, your attorney will add language along the lines of one of the following:
“I give to Nuçi’s Space the rest and residue of my estate for its unrestricted use.
“I give to Nuçi’s Space____% of my estate for its unrestricted use. The address of Nuçi’s Space is 396 Oconee St. Athens GA, 30601.”
“I give to Nuçi’s Space the sum of $____ for its unrestricted use. The address of Nuçi’s Space is 396 Oconee St. Athens GA, 30601.”
Beneficiary Designation
You can leave a bequest through a beneficiary designation on your IRA or other retirement plan, or even on a life insurance policy. Beneficiary designations can be updated throughout your lifetime as your family and financial situation changes.
Similar to bequest language, you’ll indicate something like the following on your beneficiary designation:
“…Nuçi’s Space for its unrestricted use. The name of that endowment fund is [XXX]. The address of Nuçi’s Space is 396 Oconee St. Athens GA, 30601.”

Every day, we strive to create a culture where musicians can seek help without fear. However, to sustain our efforts and continue expanding our services, we rely on the generous support of individuals like you.
By committing to a monthly donation, you’ll help us:
Provide ongoing subsidized mental health services to even more musicians in need.
Expand our youth programs, which raise awareness about the importance of positive mental health habits for the up-and-coming generation of musicians.
Foster a community that prioritizes mental well-being and encourages open conversations about mental health.
Your support can be transformative. Together, we can work towards ending the epidemic of suicide in the music community and inspire a culture that celebrates openness and healing.
Monthly donations are a win-win. They allow you to spread the financial impact of your giving across an entire year and they provide us with a predictable revenue stream that helps offset slow fundraising months where we can experience insufficient cash flow to function optimally.
Give in Tribute
Honor a lost loved one, recognize someone special or commemorate a milestone by making a special gift in their name that will help prevent suicide and maintain a safe space for musicians to seek support and guidance, provide access to affordable, obstacle-free professional care, actively participates in treatment and educates about awareness, prevention and the risk factors of brain illness.
At your request, we’ll notify your honoree or the loved ones of your gift but they will not receive ongoing communication from Nuçi’s Space.

Many employers offer workplace giving and matching gift programs that can make contributing easy, and your generosity go even further. If you are considering making a gift to Nuçi’s Space, we encourage you to check with your employer to see if they offer workplace giving or matching gift programs. Some companies will even match donations made by retirees and spouses, meaning your support and its impact could be doubled or even tripled.
