The end of July marks a winding-down period for us at Nuçi’s Space–with the end of Camp Amped Summer 2025, sunburns peeling off of townies’ noses on Normaltown patios, and SUV’s full of freshman dorm supplies ready to offload on to Baxter St., you can officially say that the sweet heat of summer is rounding to a close. As we all cool down (of course, in Georgia, ‘cool’ won’t happen until at least October, but we can dream), we want to reflect on some of the hustle and bustle of the sweltering summer season–which included some really fun events and successful campaigns–all of it thanks to you, our beloved community!

This month, we held our first-ever 12 Days of Giving in July campaign, a take on “Christmas in July”, that invited community members to support our mission to prevent suicide in 12 different creative ways–ways, ideally, that are accessible and meaningful for people of all ages and financial backgrounds. These 12 days have been a blast, filled with digital and in-person opportunities to get involved in giving—from planting seeds for the future, to work-place matches, partnership opportunities, and more.

Stay tuned in the coming months for some exciting announcements including a sweet local collaboration, a Rock ‘N’ Raffle, details about our epic 25th Anniversary Benefit Concert, and more.

For now, on Day 12, we ask you to join us as we blend our monthly newsletter, Right Side Glows, with our final day of Giving: Club 25.

Here are just a few highlights from our 12 Days of Giving Campaign:

Day 2: Nuçi Phillips’s Birthday Bash at Jeni’s!

We threw a birthday party in honor of Nuçi Phillips’s 51st birthday at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams on Lumpkin St. 25% of all proceeds from 3-6 PM went to Nuçi’s Space! We even made a featured flavor called ✨ “Star Stuff” — Buttercream Birthday Cake + Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks.

Day 4: Gear Donations

Thank you to every friend that dropped off second hand gear in honor of our 4th day of the campaign, which focused on our in-kind gifts to our ReWired Second Hand Gear program!

We had 14 donations since the campaign started, including Dylan Keel from Classic City Vintage Guitars and Kevin Cregge New West Records!

Day 6: Business Giving

🎸 Five Eight + Magnapop sold 10 signed event posters at their weekend show in ATL at Wild Heaven, and generously donated 100% of the poster’s proceeds. Rumor has it Five-Eight will be doing this again at their show at Variety Playhouse on August 9th!

As an example of a business that holds an annual percentage day benefitting our organization, we highlighted Marti’s at Midday. Here is what Jay had to say about why he chooses to give: “In April of 2020, we lost my sister Marti to death by suicide. Being able to support Nuçi’s Space means more than words can express to me, to our family and to the restaurant she built. Giving back to an organization that supports mental health

On Day 8: Volunteering, we highlighted how people can give their time. One volunteer who has generously given a lot of their time and heart to our cause this year is Phillip Jones,

“Music has given so much to me in my life, and volunteering at Nuçi’s Space provides me the opportunity to give a little back. Volunteering here has shown me how a creative community should care for one another, and I’m honored to play a small part in it. If you’ve got some spare time on your hands, there’s no better way to spend it than volunteering at Nuçi’s Space!”

Day 12: As we close this campaign, we’re asking you to help us build a sustainable future. Club 25 is our 25th Anniversary recurring giving program—$25/month

If you are someone that already gives $300 a year or more, splitting it into a recurring monthly gift of $25/$25+ allows our organization to rely on a steady, dependable donation stream throughout the calendar year. Monthly gifts allow us to:

Keep therapy and psychiatry obstacle-free for clients
Train a new group monthly in QPR suicide prevention method
Support young musicians through our year round Youth Support Programs
Provide a safe space for musicians to do what they love most!

Full Medical Clinic:

Our free health clinic slots were all full this month! Thank y’all for sharing and helping us get the word out to those that need it, and to medical students like Shivani who help Dr. Podolski make these clinics possible!

Watson Mill Staff Day:

We took a moment to unplug, enjoy some good food, and reconnect with one another at Watson Mill for our annual Staff Appreciation Day. We are incredibly thankful to our team for the hard work they do day in and day out in making Nuçi’s Space a strong, safe, and loving space for our community.

Swampy’s Second Annual End of Summer Swamp-Tacular Celebration:

Last night, we celebrated the end of summer and our Camp Amped community with a final summer 2025 Camp Amped show at Hendershots! We heard a swamp-tastic set from 4 camp bands: Flag, Big Eyed Baby Deer, Pyramid Schemers, and F 4 effort. Our Senior Programs Manager, Alex Dillon, also shared some of our 2025 Youth Support Program Summer numbers, which fill us with pride:

103 unique campers
37 new campers
13 students from the Boys and Girls Club of Athens
$12,000 in scholarships funds disbursed between May and July
