Camp Amped Summer Program

Camp Amped Summer 2013

The Camp Amped Summer 2013 deadline has passed

What is Camp Amped?
Camp Amped is a summer day camp for youth ages 11 to 17 (middle and high school students) which supports the mission of Nuçi’s Space by serving as an outreach program to young musicians. Nuçi’s Space was formed in Athens, GA in memory of 22-year-old musician and UGA student Nuçi Phillips who died by suicide in 1996. Nuçi’s Space’s mission plays a central role in the day to day activities of Camp Amped while providing youth with the opportunity to strengthen their musical skills. The following have been identified as the defining objectives of Camp Amped:

•     Build confidence and self-esteem in young musicians
•     Encourage campers to develop positive habits in relation to mental health
•     Facilitate open and honest discussion about the issues facing young musicians
•     Nurture students’ interest in and passion for music and performing
•     Improve practice techniques and performance skills
•     Provide guidance about the music industry
•     Create a fun and unique experience for young musicians

Why should I come to Camp Amped?
All of the staff members at Camp Amped have been right where you are: a teenage musician trying to figure out how they are going to make a life out of doing what they love. They all succeeded in becoming amazing and talented musicians, and they are going to do everything they can during the two weeks of Camp Amped to make sure that you have all the tools they can give you to become successful.

When is Camp Amped?
