Rock N Raffle - A Nuçi’s Space Tradition

“It was actually the craziest moment of my life when I found out I won...”

Caring for musicians is one of Nuçi’s Space’s core values and we are overwhelmingly grateful when our musicians pour back into us. In 2009, one band in particular donated show tickets to Nuçi’s Space - creating the first ever Rock N Raffle.

That legendary band was Widespread Panic.

We are thrilled that our newest Rock N Raffle is with up-and-coming bluegrass artist Billy Strings. His abilities to seamlessly mix various genres including bluegrass, heavy metal, jam bands, psychedelic and classic rock makes him a one-of-a-kind musician.

“I've learned, you've just got to let the song do its thing. So that's what I try to do—write songs and let them come out however they do.” - Billy Strings

This grammy-winning artist grew from humble roots that he celebrates in his newest release Me/and/Dad, which includes some of String’s most personal songwriting and features his step-dad Terry Barber. Billy Strings is taking the bluegrass world by storm, and we are delighted that he is taking a pit stop in the Classic City.

On March 7th at the one-and-only Georgia Theater, Billy Strings and the band will fill the room with knee-slapping licks and classic bluegrass lyrics. To join in on this night of a lifetime, enter the raffle here, and tune in on February 24th to see if you won!

Hear previous winner Cassetty Clarke describe her Rock N Raffle experience below:

I went to my first (Widespread) Panic concert in Atlanta in 2007. I cried because I had found my people. I was 17 & about to go off to college and Widespread Panic saved me from the life I thought I wanted - instead, I became obsessed with traveling to see Panic concerts with my friends.

It was actually the craziest moment of my life when I found out I won... The start of the year was not great. (Widespread) Panic cancelled their NYE run in Atlanta. Then I got covid. Then, 2 days prior to finding out I won, I took my best friend Diesel to the vet where I found out he had a tumor in his spinal cord and we didn't have much time left. Needless to say, it was a rollercoaster of emotions. I felt like the Universe was looking out for me, taking something so precious away, but then giving me this. My year would've definitely been more difficult if I hadn't won these tickets. I have never experienced being so happy & so sad at the same time. I even avoided answering the calls that I won because it was some random number - I am so glad I finally answered!

As someone who has suffered depression & had nowhere to go & no one to turn to, I can only imagine the benefit of having an organization like Nuçi’s Space. The mission is so clear: preventing suicide with a focus on musicians. Wth the statistics of suicide in the US, we need more organizations like Nuci's Spcae to continue providing affordable care, education & resources about brain illnesses.

If Nuci's Space does this raffle again, ENTER IT! Not only do you have the chance to win big, but you are supporting an amazing organization that helps real people.

While we love helping people experience their favorite bands and artists live, the ultimate goal of Rock N Raffle is to open the door to reach previously unconnected communities. To help us continue our mission to prevent suicide, consider entering our current Rock N Raffle.
