Camp Amped After School
We have set the dates for our Spring 2012 session of Camp Amped After School, Nuçi’s Space’s after school music program for middle and high school aged musicians (11-17 years old). The Spring 2012 program will run from Thursday, February 2- Sunday, May 6th! The entire group will meet every Thursday from 4:30-6:30, and there will be an additional rehearsal from 4:30-6:30 which is scheduled to take place on Mondays. There will also be the option to participate in either the Full (with private lessons at Athens School of Music) or Modified Program (without private lessons) this semester. Full Program tuition will be $650 for the entire semester, while Modified Program tuition will cost $400.
Acceptance for CAAS Spring 2012 will be dependent on a proper balance of instrumentation (we will have room for up to 4 drummers, 4 bassists and at least 8 guitarists with the remaining spots open for keyboardists, vocalists, etc.). Students must have enough knowledge of their instrument that they are comfortable enough to play with their band, and all students are highly encouraged to take private lessons independently or through the Full Program of CAAS.
As always, a submitted application does NOT guarantee acceptance, but the earlier an application is turned in, the better. A student MUST be in good standing at their school in order to participate in CAAS, and it is important to remember that CAAS is a 13 week commitment and should be treated as any other extracurricular commitment like marching band or sports. Attendance is mandatory, as band mates are all counting on each other to be at rehearsal.
There will be a LIMITED number of scholarships available for the Spring semester. Parents, if you are interested in applying for scholarship funds, please fill out and submit the scholarship application form (link found below the CAAS Spring 2012 Application Form). Submission of a scholarship application does not guarantee a scholarship, nor does past receipt of scholarship funds.
